At the onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic, most of the businesses in Sagada, Mountain Province especially those in the tourism industry closed.

To provide the Micro Small Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) the needed skills in order to increase their income, Entrepreneurs are encouraged to venture in the food line business. They are inspired to undergo skills training which is a nonending process. With this in mind, the Capability/Skills Training on Ice Cream making came about. The Resource Speakers would be demonstrating the care concepts in ice cream making and the methodology is through hands on development.

Having a permanent job and a business should not put an end to learning new skills. Skills may be acquired due to an individual’s interest and for business expansion through innovations.

Linking with government agencies on their livelihood programs, this training was jointly conducted by the Provincial Government of Mountain Province, Office of the Provincial Governor through its MSME Development Program, TESDA, Mountain Province and Sagada Multi-purpose Cooperative.

Our appreciation is given to Hon. Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr. for approving the proposal and appropriating funds for the meals, snacks of the participants and supplies needed for the training.

Thank you TESDA, Mountain Province for unselfishly sharing your expertise as Resource Speakers and Providing the equipment used. PD Alvin L. Yturrralde graced the occasion encouraging the participants to avail of TESDA programs.

On our part, Sagada Multipurpose Cooperative gave the tokens to our Resource Speaker and provided the supplies for the return demonstration of the participants.

The activity was attended by 50 participants (9 males and 41 females). In observance of health protocols, they were divided in 2 batches.

Thank you participants for your active participation. We would love to see “Sagada Ice Cream” selling in the market this coming days.
